iOS 19: Rumors, features, release date, and supported devices
According to
recent reports, iOS 19, expected to be released in 2025, will be compatible
with all iPhone models currently supporting iOS 18. This means that devices as
old as the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, all released in 2018, will
receive the update. However, some features may be limited to the latest iPhone
models. The first iOS 19 and iPad OS 19 betas are anticipated to be unveiled
during WWDC 2025 in June, with the official updates expected to roll out in
September. Not many iOS 19 features have been rumored yet, but Siri is expected
to become more conversational like ChatGPT in a later iOS 19.4 update, which is
likely to be released around March 2026.
In contrast,
iPad OS 19 is expected to drop support for certain older iPad models, such as
the iPad 7th generation from 2019.
Here is a list of iPhone models expected to support iOS 19:
iPhone 16
The latest model in Apple's lineup, featuring advanced technology and
performance enhancements.
iPhone 15Pro Max
A high-end model known for its superior camera system and large display.
iPhone 14Plus
Offers a larger screen experience with improved battery life and performance.
iPhone 13Mini
A compact model that doesn't compromise on performance or features.
iPhone 12
Introduced 5G connectivity and a new design, still popular for its balance of
features and price.
iPhone 11Pro
Known for its triple-camera system and high-quality display, offering excellent
performance.
iPhone XR
A more affordable option that brought advanced features like Face ID to a wider
audience.
This continued
support underscores Apple's commitment to providing software updates for older
devices, ensuring users can benefit from the latest features and security
improvements.
